She is deeply committed to trauma-informed singing, recognizing the vital connection between mental health and vocal expression. She aims to create a safe and supportive space where students can explore and heal through music, fostering vocal agency and emotional well-being.

Tiun loves teaching beginner students and is passionate about differentiating each lesson to meet your unique needs. She recognizes the unique challenges that each beginner presents, and tailors her teaching approach to nurture the growth and potential of every individual. Whether guiding a young student through the basics of vocal development or helping an adult beginner discover their passion for singing, Tiun is a steadfast supporter of voices at every stage of their journey. 

In addition to being a passionate voice teacher, she proudly identify as a lifelong learner and dedicated researcher. Her curiosity and commitment to expanding her knowledge are at the core of her identity.

With regard to voice research, Tiun has presented her findings at conferences such as the Voice Foundation and the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Her research topics cover a wide range of areas, including the impact of western classical singing on native Asian tonal languages, the negative effects of music on emotions in collegiate singers, and voice assessments in a collegiate setting. Prior to her shift as a vocal educator, her past roles include serving as a general music teacher at the French American School of Princeton (preschool-8th), musicianship instructor at the Kodály Teacher Institute at Midwestern State University (continuing education), and general music & choir teacher in Chesterfield County Public

Schools in Richmond, Virginia (pk-5). 

She holds a graduate degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from Westminster Choir College at Rider University, an undergraduate degree in Music Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Kodály certification from Midwestern State University.
